Welcome to PhilJurisDigest!

Welcome to Philippine Jurisprudence Digest.

Philippine Jurisprudence Digest is an online law blog that tackles Philippine cases/ jurisprudence. The Supreme Court from time to time decides numerous cases, some of which are relevant to one ordinary Juan. We have to admit, some of the Supreme Court decisions affect us Filipinos as a nation, whether one is a CEO of a corporation in Makati or a jeepney driver in Espana, Manila. This law blog has the mission of dissecting these relevant cases in a form that is understandable to everyone.

PhilJurisDigest's Mission - to make the law understandable to everyone.

Like Math, the Law can be found everywhere from the moment we wake up, to the time that we go back to our room and rest for the next day. And just like Math, the Law can be confusing sometimes to us. It seems like it's an alien language that is only reserved to those who have learned or has experienced the law. When one talks of the law, it immediately gives us that image of a rubik's cube jumbled by a 8 year old kid.

PhilJurisDigest's mission is to erase that notion.

Jurisprudence that will be tackled here will be digested in a formal form, but may be from time to time, be digested in a magazine/newspaper form. The articles herein will as much as possible, leave out the deep, legalistic terms and inject ordinary, layman terms that are understandable to an ordinary reader. The purpose is to bridge an understanding between the reader and the article. As Tony Robbins said, learning is about creating a relationship of things between the known and the unknown.

Who will benefit from PhilDigest?
1.Law students.
Digesting cases will be a normal ritual of a law student in law school. Law students will benefit from this blog especially if the assigned case is a required reading in their subject. The digest here are in a form that is only a gist of the whole case. This blog STRONGLY suggests that they will still read the original text in order to fully appreciate the case. This is why at the end of each digest, there is a link provided for the original case.

2. Researchers.
This law blog is intended to be filled with relevant jurisprudence in the future. Researchers of a certain topic or case (say a Tort case involving liability in accidents in a school field trip, for example) will benefit from the digests posted in this law blog.

3. The Ordinary Filipino reader.
The ultimate goal of this blog is to make the law an ordinary language everyone can understand and relate. This law blog undertakes to contribute to the betterment of every Filipino by keeping them informed of legal situations/remedies relevant to their daily lives.

Once again, thank you for dropping by, and we hope to see you in the comments section!
